Slow Cooker French Toast

As a mom, one simple joy is waking up to breakfast already prepared and ready to eat. Use a slow cooker with a timer to simplify your morning after a little advanced prep the night before that’s so easy, your kids can help. As sweet as the classic version, Slow Cooker French Toast will make your family happy and give you a break in the morning. When you see the smiles on their faces as you enjoy a relaxing breakfast together, you’ll be glad you did.

Slow Cooker French Toast

Serves 4-6
Prep time: 10 minutes
Cook time: 2-2 ½ hours

5 eggs
1 cup heavy whipping cream
1 cup milk
1 Tablespoon vanilla
¼–½ cup granulated sugar
1 Tablespoon cinnamon
1 French bread loaf, cut into
1-inch-thick slices

1. Whisk together eggs, heavy whipping cream, milk and vanilla. Add sugar and cinnamon and whisk until sugar is dissolved and well blended.
2. Spray a slow cooker with non-stick cooking spray. Place one layer of sliced bread in the bottom of the slow cooker. Pour 1 cup of egg, milk and sugar mixture over the sliced bread. Place another layer of sliced bread in the slow cooker. Pour in an additional 1 cup of the egg, milk and sugar mixture. Repeat 1-2 times until bread and liquid are gone.
3. Cook 2–2 ½ hours on high.
4. Remove French Toast from the slow cooker and spoon onto individual plates. Serve with additional cinnamon sugar, maple syrup or confectioners’ sugar, if desired.

Money Saver
Any leftover plain or wheat bread can be used with similar results. We also like cinnamon raisin bread!
