Skeleton Cupcakes

Skeleton Cupcakes are a spooktacular dessert the whole family can have fun making.

Halloween is the time for tricks, treats and major scares, but that doesn’t mean that the little “punkins” should be left out of the festivities! Try these easy Skeleton Cupcakes. If you’re short on time getting your Halloween party ready, use store-bought cupcakes with white frosting, and then have fun with your kids making your own Skeleton Cupcake creations. Skeleton Cupcakes

Serves 10
Prep time: 30 minutes

10 large marshmallows
10 cupcakes with white frosting, homemade or store-bought
1 bag yogurt-covered pretzels

To decorate:
10 lollipop sticks
Black decorating icing or black edible marker
White frosting

1. Cut about 1 inch off the top of each lollipop stick using heavy-duty scissors. Place a marshmallow on the end of each stick.
2. Draw a face on each marshmallow using black frosting or an edible food marker.
3. Place a yogurt-covered pretzel on the top of a cupcake so it lays flat, directly in the center of the cupcake. Put a dab of frosting in the center of the pretzel, and stack another on top so that they are aligned. Repeat one more time. Take a marshmallow-topped lollipop stick and run it through the bottom holes of the stacked pretzels for the “spine.” The loops on the pretzels should face towards the front, to create “ribs.” Use white frosting to fill the hole with the lollipop stick to secure it in place.
4. Carefully cut one yogurt-covered pretzel in half (down the middle) for the “arms.” Adhere the “arms” to the “body” with a dab of frosting at the end, and place them in the two holes of the pretzel at the top. Repeat with each cupcake.
