Surprise your kids with this smoothie on St. Patrick’s Day, and they’ll find drinking their greens can be fun—and tasty.
Instead of using artificial dyes, combine these natural ingredients for a St. Patrick’s Day treat. Hopefully, your kids will like it so much that they will want it throughout the year.
Green Smoothie
Makes 4 (8-ounce) servings
Prep time: 5 minutes
Note: Do not use any dark-colored or red fruits (strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, etc.), because those will turn the smoothie brown or purple.
4 cups loosely packed organic baby spinach, washed well
1 ½ cups orange juice
1 ripe banana
2 cups frozen, light-colored fruit—any combination (pineapple, peaches, mangos, honeydew)
1. Add ingredients to the blender in the order listed.
2. Blend for one minute on high power.
3. Garnish with a kiwi slice, or as desired.
