Buttery Snowball Cookies

These “snowballs” are buttery bites of yum; you may know them as Russian Tea Cookies or Mexican Wedding Cookies. Try making a batch along with snowflake-decorated sugar cookies for a winter wonderland in your kitchen!

Makes approximately 24 cookies
Prep time: 20 minutes, plus 1 hour to chill dough
Cook time: 35 minutes
½ cup butter
2 Tablespoons honey
1 cup sifted all-purpose flour
¼ teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup finely chopped walnuts
Confectioners’ sugar
1. Beat butter until creamy then stir in the honey.
2. Add all of the dry ingredients except the confectioners’ sugar and mix well. Chill dough 1 hour.
3. Form dough into balls about the size of a walnut and place 2 inches apart on a greased baking sheet. Bake at 300°F for 35 minutes or until lightly browned.
4. Roll hot cookies in confectioners’ sugar. Let cool and roll in sugar again.
